KENYATTA UNIVERSITY CRUISES PASSED CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY OF EASTERN AFRICA TO BOOK A FINAL AGAINST MEAN MACHINE

The second semi-final match pitted Kenyatta University BlakBlad against the Catholic University of Eastern University Monks. The Thika Road boys came with their usual clinical plays controlled by their fly half Lionel Ajelity. BlakBlad played with more phases than they have ever played before. They run 91 phases during this match increasing their possession and chances of strong attacks that resulted in great line breaks.

Sheldon Kahi opened the score just a few minutes into first half with a great run to put Blad ahead with a try and Lionel Ajelity failed to add the extras. Lionel Ajelity added a penalty to take the game to 8-0 after CUEA Monks was penalized.

Brian Wahinya replaced scrumhalf Alusa Andrew after he was sent for a medical check due to bleeding. Brian immediately grounded a try and Lionel Ajelity added the extras.

Kenyatta University continued to own the game with calm plays that resulted in four more tries from Alusa Andrew, A. Ryan, K. Arcadius, and O. Robinson with Lionel Ajelity converting 2 of the tries and adding 1 penalty. Lionel Ajelity took his kicking to a 63% rate going 15 successes for 24 attempts.

Brian Wahinya also converted one of the tries.

CUEA Monks sole try came from Odhiambo Elias and was converted by Humphrey Wafula ending the game 44-7 in favor of Kenyatta University BlakBlad.

The Varsity League Final moves to Nairobi on the 27th at the RFUEA Grounds, Ngong Road and will pit Kenyatta University BlakBlad going up against University of Nairobi Mean Machine.
